Hybrid SIMMAN™ TEAM SEDATION TRAINING

Hybrid Simman Team Sedation Training

Explore your NEW BENCHMARK for collaborative e-learning virtual courses: 12 “in-situ” hybrid SIMMAN™ high fidelity team simulation experiences to watch as a team and adapt to your unique ongoing educational efforts. Each scenario facilitates the design of your own simulated codes, provides opportunity for teaching, debriefing, and facilitating a framework to create patient safety pathways, algorithms and checklists. Work and education BLEND together as team members cross train and will understand, rehearse, repeatedly practice and then perform simple, shared, structured responses (work-flow) for each emergency. This is true active participatory learning, not just listening to a lecture. Optimal Crisis Resource Management is your result. Patient Safety WILL improve when the TEAM periodically rehearses guided by each of the 12 emergency simulation courses.

Guided simulation facilitates cooperative team learning in your office, with your equipment. Passive, synchronous lecture-based learning shifts to active learning through peer teaching, educational games, team development of cognitive aids through repeated simulation and debriefing. The DAO IN-SITU approach is unique, and is not available from any other source. Dental Anesthesia Online encourages the use of this module to validate the proceduralist-directed administration of team sedation model, as routinely performed in multiple medical specialties, such as emergency medicine, gastroenterology, radiology and cardiology. A wonderful complement and compliment to the AAOMS DAANCE™ program.

These courses will help identify AND remediate human error and systems weaknesses to improve patient safety: “human factor engineering” – making it easier to do the right things and harder to do the wrong things.”

DAO strongly encourages the acquisition of an upper airway manikin to enhance simulation fidelity.
